Severstal Steel Company to acquire additional steel capacity

Russian steelmaker Severstal Steel announced that it has acquired Ventor Steel and its assets in the Tula and Kaluga regions, as well as a complex in Cherepovitz, to increase its structural steel production.


The company expects to increase its structural steel production capacity to 126,000 tonnes per year and plans to serve the commercial sector and the domestic oil and gas industry.


According to Severstal Steel, 48,000 metric tons of the total capacity will come from Severstal Steel Solutions with the help of a capacity expansion project until 2025, while 48,000 metric tons will be produced by Ventall Steel Solutions and the Cherepovets complex will provide the remaining 30,000 metric tons after the investment. After the completion of the investment and renovation project, the Cherepovets plant will be named Severstal Steel Structures and will specialize in the production of cylindrical metal structures and heavy-duty welded I-beams.
