SA283GrC steel plate is an American standard carbon structural steel plate, mainly composed of carbon, manganese, sulfur and phosphorus and other elements. SA283GrC steel also has excellent corrosion resistance and can be used in harsh working environments for a long time without being affected.

SA283GrC steel plate production process
1. Steelmaking: use converter or electric furnace for initial refining, then refine through LF furnace, and then vacuum degassing through VD furnace.
2. Continuous casting/die casting: The refined molten steel is injected into the continuous casting machine or die casting mold for molding.
3. Cleaning and heating: symmetrical steel plate surface cleaning and heating treatment to eliminate stress and improve rolling performance.
4. Rolling: the heated steel plate is rolled to obtain the required thickness and size.
5. Inspection: non-destructive inspection of the rolled steel plate to ensure its internal quality:
6. Heat treatment: According to needs, heat treatment of the steel plate to improve its mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
7. Surface inspection: Surface inspection of the steel plate after heat treatment to ensure its surface quality.
8. Batch: According to the quality requirements and use, the steel plate is divided into different batches.
9. Cutting and sampling: According to the requirements of the drawing, the steel plate is cut, processed and sampled.
10. Performance test: Test the performance of the sample after cutting and sampling, including mechanical properties, chemical composition and metallographic structure.
11. Steel plate finishing: Surface finishing and coating treatment of qualified steel plates to meet customer requirements.

SA283GrC steel plate application range:
SA283GrC steel plate is widely used in the manufacture of various mechanical parts, such as bolts, nuts, pins and other standard parts as well as a variety of non-standard mechanical parts. In addition, it is also used in the manufacture of building structural materials, such as steel bars, steel pipes, steel plates and so on. In the manufacture of pressure vessels, SA283GrC steel plate is also used as the main structural material to make a variety of high-pressure vessels and boilers.
SA283GrC steel plate surface quality requirements
(1) The surface of the steel plate should not have bubbles, scars, cracks, folding, inclusion and pressing into the oxide sheet and other harmful defects that affect the use of the steel should not be visually visible stratification.
(2) The surface of the steel is allowed to have a thin layer of iron oxide, rust and non-obvious roughness, mesh, scratches and other local defects caused by pressing into the iron oxide and roll, but the depth should not be greater than half of the tolerance of the thickness of the steel, and the maximum allowable thickness of the steel should be guaranteed.
(3) The surface defects of the steel are allowed to be removed by grinding and other methods, and the cleaning place should be smooth without edges and corners, and the cleaning depth should not be greater than the negative deviation of the steel thickness
