The specifications of channel steel are mainly expressed by dimensions such as height (h), leg width (b) and waist thickness (d).
The common grades of European standard channel steel include S235JR, S275JR, S355JR, S355J2, S355J0, S355J2, S355NL and so on. These grades all comply with the European standard (EN 10025) for different mechanical properties and applications.
For example, S235JR is a low-carbon structural steel with a yield strength of 235MPa, good plasticity and toughness, easy processing and welding, and suitable for general building structures, Bridges, vehicle manufacturing and other fields. The S355JR is a high-strength structural steel with a yield strength of 355MPa, which is suitable for engineering projects with higher strength requirements. S235JR is the European standard of non-alloy structural steel, equivalent to the national standard Q235B, that is, carbon structural steel with low carbon content, which is used for welding, bolted and riveted structures.

S355JR, S355J0 and S355J2 are the three main products of European standard H-beam steel. They have certain differences in material, but they all have good mechanical properties and service life. S355JR is a low carbon alloy structural steel, its chemical composition contains an appropriate amount of silicon manganese, phosphorus, sulfur and other elements.
Compared with S355JR, S355J0 has a slightly higher carbon content in its chemical composition and a slightly lower alloying element content, so its strength is slightly lower than S355JR, but its plasticity and toughness are superior.
The tensile strength and yield point of S355J2 are higher than those of S355JR and S355J0, and its elongation and impact toughness are also better.
