Rebar is the common name for hot rolled ribbed steel bars. The grade of ordinary hot-rolled steel bar is composed of HRB and the minimum yield point of the grade. H, R, and B are the first letters of the three words Hotrolled, Ribbed, and Bars respectively.
Hot-rolled ribbed steel bars are divided into three grades: Grade II HRB335 (the old grade is 20MnSi), Grade III HRB400 (the old grades are 20MnSiV, 20MnSiNb, 20Mnti), and Grade IV HRB500.
Epoxy resin coated steel bar is a layer of epoxy resin protective coating prepared on the surface of ordinary steel bar by electrostatic spraying powder high-temperature fusion process. The coating has excellent chemical corrosion resistance, does not react with acid and base, and can withstand the high alkaline environment of concrete for a long time without being damaged. And the coating is impermeable, so it can prevent the corrosive medium such as water, oxygen, chloride and other chemical components from contacting the steel bar, effectively protecting the steel bar, so that its corrosion resistance life is greatly extended.
Epoxy steel bars are formed by coating the surface of ordinary steel bars with an epoxy resin coating. Ordinary steel bars generally have ribbed steel bars and light round steel bars, such as HRB400, HRB500, HRB600, T63 and other types of rebar, as well as HPB300 round steel (transmission rod), PSB830/PSB930/PSB1080 fine rolled rebar, etc. There are also American standard GR60, British standard 460B, B500B, Australian standard 500E, 500N and other different standards of rebar

Excellent anti-corrosion performance: ordinary steel bars are susceptible to environmental factors and rust corrosion, and the coating of epoxy resin steel bars can prevent corrosive media such as water, oxygen, chloride and other chemical components from contacting the steel bars, so that it can withstand the high-alkaline environment of concrete for a long time without being destroyed, effectively prevent the corrosion of steel bars under harsh environmental conditions, and greatly improve the durability of engineering structures.
High economic efficiency: it can directly extend the service life of the building for more than 50 years, avoid many inconveniences caused by maintenance or demolition of public construction, and exempt all long-term maintenance expenses and expensive maintenance costs, and can be used selectively in different parts of the building, and the project cost is easy to control.
Good construction performance: the coated steel bar is simple to operate, the construction is easy, and the construction progress is not affected by the weather. However, when bending steel bars, ensure that the operating environment temperature is above 5 ° C; If the cold bending process is used, use a nylon or plastic sleeve to pad the support and mandrel in contact with the epoxy-coated steel bar, and lay a cloth pad on the contact plane to prevent the coating from being squeezed or damaged by metal objects.
Shortcoming
After the coating, the bond between the steel bar and the concrete decreases, so its anchoring length is longer than that of ordinary steel bars. The bond strength between epoxy coated steel bar and concrete is 80% of that of uncoated steel bar. The anchoring length is 1.25 times that of uncoated bar; The lapping length of the tension bar is 1.5 times that of the uncoated bar; The compression reinforcement is 1.0 times, and should not be less than 250mm; The calculated crack width should be 1.2 times of the uncoated steel bar, and the calculated stiffness should be 0.9 times of the uncoated steel bar.
